Sinisa Crvenkovic

Biography

Born 1949. B.Sc. 1972. M.Sc. 1979. Ph.D. 1981. Full Professor since March 27, 1992.

Head of General Algebra and Theoretical Computer Science since 2004.

Currently, he teaches the following courses:

  • B042: Analysis of Algorithms (for students of applied math, fall semester),
  • B142: Formal Languages and Automata (for students of applied math, a two-semester course),
  • A2L07: Number Theory (for students of pure and applied math, spring semester).

Previously, he has taught courses in Theory of Algorithms, Methodology of Mathematical Education, Linear Algebra, General Algebra, Mathematical Logic and Set Theory. 

As an IREX Scholar he spent the academic year 1984/85 at the University of Arkansas (Fayetteville, AR), USA. 

For eight years (1993-2001), he was the head of the Board of Trustees of Serbian Mathematical Society. Since 1989 he is a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews and a member of AMS.

His mathematical interests are in universal algebra, semigroup theory, algorithmic problems in algebra and theory of automata and formal languages. He has supervised 6 M.Sc. and 3 Ph.D. theses.
